Hey there hot stuff,
This is the down-low: You have rocked my world, and you have a great butt. But this is not working for me. Not because we don't get along - we do. You've got a mind I could wander in for miles, and a soul so fathomless I could go deep-sea diving. But the plain truth is that I am not ready for someone as strange as you. It's me... not you. Except... it IS you!
I think the first clue of your eccentricity was the restraining order for me... and then the fact that every time I get your newest number, it's unreachable within a day. I mean if I didn't know better I would think you were avoiding me!!! But I have felt the connection... when I look into your eyes I know the intensity is so great that you can't help but look away. Sure it looks like a nervous twitch - as though you are frantically, furtively glancing around for the nearest exit. It's quite endearing and just makes you all the more sexy in my eyes. I'm a bit worried though at the attachment that you have formed to that shiny new letter opener of yours... and the other night the edge of the blade caught the light and it looked almost like a real knife! Baby, if you are scared of anyone, you need to tell me.
I guess this fear is what has made you change the locks to your place so many times... and I guess the feeling has been so overpowering and mind-numbing you forgot to tell me each time! Luckily in order not to trouble you I have managed to get the keys copied quietly every time. I know how stressed you are at work too - I mean every time I call the work number you gave me your secretary answers as Pizza Hut Home Delivery! It's great to have a laugh at work, but I am sure working with such jokers can get tiring.
But honey, any fool can tell you have issues. I'm just not ready for such complex problems. I mean I thought my last boyfriend was strange (he kept moving town without telling me, and he's either had a sex operation and turned into a woman, or has left the country - noone is telling me, and his old neighbours all seem to cower when they see me! It's baffling!), but you take the cake!
So I'll be seeing you... (and not just via satellite from the well hidden secret CCTV I had installed in your room)...
XOXO

Miss Totally CRAZY-For-You is officially my new hero! What?!
ReplyDeleteHaha... you have a penchant for the slightly unhinged?
ReplyDeleteMy hero! Refreshingly different! Straight for the jugular....why wast time with this courtship nonsense?!
ReplyDeleteHaha! I like that you like!
ReplyDeleteWhat inspires your writing?
ReplyDeleteYour write on a vast array of topics.
I like this one lots....I like unpredictable detective series and the like, and this post feels to me like the middle of an unpredictable unfolding story.
I'm going to savour the idea that this is like a detective story for quite a few days to come :-) Can't stop smiling now!
ReplyDeleteMy writing is mainly what's in my head. A lot of it is emotional venting to be honest, and then other stuff is what I find funny and want to share. The very little serious stuff is just my way of relaying my views on certain things.
:-) Cool.
ReplyDeleteWriting is like artwork, I think. It has to be inspired. Felt from within first before it can be brought to life.
Wow. Amazing line. Please tell me you write and please tell me you share!
ReplyDelete:-) Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'm still a novice, so I don't share (yet). I haven't quite mastered the art of getting in touch with and expressing my inner self.
I'm also quite nerdy so there would likely be very loud yawns :o)
But reading? I love. Words tend to speak first to my heart then to my head.
By the way I checked out the blog you recommended.
My favourite post? Black water. Very abstract. And the sequence of events is articulated amazingly.
Would you venture into doing short stories at some point?
Please share when you are ready! You might never be ready by the way :-P
ReplyDeleteNerdy about? Someone somewhere would find it interesting. Just look at the books on the shelves these days and you know the range of readers' interests. Some boggle my mind to be honest ;-)
I love words too. It's what gets me about songs more often than not!! It's usually words first and then the melody! I'm weird.
When did I recommend Yellow Son to you? Please advise - am very curious now.
Would love to write anything good at sometime - practise makes perfect - I hope :-)
Oh I recommended Yellow Son in a blog entry! Silly me...
ReplyDeleteMusic, I love music too!
ReplyDeleteWeird? Absolutely not! I usually listen to the lyrics first to get the storyline-as a result, one learns the lyrics pretty fast. (used to really impress my pals with this one:-)
Maybe I should have mentioned that it wasn't because I was exceptionally gifted? :-P
I'll definitely put myself out there some time soon. I have one that I wrote a while back. So long ago its probably on a floppy disk :-(...Hmmm. My comp will likely go off in protest.
Yellow son? A while ago when I couldn't access your blog via facebook I e-mailed you asking about it? We chat a bit. And you also paid tribute to him in one of your works.
There are blogs out there where writers post short stories. Here's one I think you might like
http://storytime-all-our-stories.blogspot.com/
It's serious stuff, and the stories are pretty good too.
If you ask me I think you should go for it. Start doing short stories and use such forums to put your work out there.
Just like you said its unlikely that there comes a time when a writer says (to unsuspecting individuals assembled in the room at the time :-) "Right! I'm ready now, where shall I start?" Its always a work in progress.
Figured out who you are JJ ;-)
ReplyDeleteCheck this out: http://www.notelling.net/2010/07/gathering-audience-blackbird-academys.html
:-)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the url, I'll check it out for sure.
I like Housewives of Faulkner County.
ReplyDeleteThere's something there. I'm probably going off the gist of the entire entry, but what caught my attention was how no one talks work outs or eating properly unless its related to some kind of fad.
And it seems taboo to age? I don't know where that comes from, I mean, I want to be a hundred someday. How will I get there if I don't go past sixty five?
Hi!
ReplyDeleteI've gone through the blog. (One tends to have the time to when they're on leavel :-)
I'm afraid its a bit out there for me.
Guess I'm still feeling intricate fiction, mystery, myth and heart stopping drama!
How about you?
Seen anything you like on the blog I recommended?
Check this out, pretty cool.
ReplyDeletehttp://paulocoelhoblog.com/2010/07/31/character-of-the-week-einstein/
Heya! Just had to revisit the Housewives of Faulkner County - I love Monda, and I hope she publishes a book of fiction soon! Wrt ageing, check out the poetry of Ruth Fainlight - she's got some great stuff on vanity and ageing.
ReplyDeleteHaven't had a chance to check out your other recommendations but will do soon - work, and life, are currently non-stop!
Oh I love Crazy Texas Mommy - she's the kick ass witty unafraid woman I long to be!
Enjoy your leave! :-)
Thank you!
ReplyDeleteRuth Fainlight? I'll look her up.
That's OK, about not being able to check out the blogs.
The short stories one does require a considerable investment in time. Paulo Coelho's is a good read though, if you have a minute or two.
Work and life? :-) From what I hear that's called striking an admirable balance.
What do you think it takes. To be that kind of woman? Totally sure-footed.
Haha - it's a teetering tottering act balancing act ;-)
ReplyDeleteSure footed and totally, brutally honest?
Don't know for sure....
ReplyDeleteI think though that every woman has her own unique identity. Something that comes with being true to your heart.
And that sometimes we mess up this identity by trying to be something or someone else...then we lose our confidence, and with it the magic that makes each of us out of this world. (I'll stop there before you go to sleep :-)
I say sure footed=self confidence=going for it even when you have had no one to charter a path before you.
Sometimes, not always, but sometimes people's disapproval is a sign that you're doing something right.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteHow are you?
I'm OK.
I know that creativity cannot be rushed, but I was wondering whether you have something in the works?
You know, so that we (your following) can go out and buy confetti in preparation :-)
Haha you are very sweet, and possibly the only one reading this ;-)
ReplyDeleteCrazy weeks preceding, and expected, so no time... Sigh...
:-D
ReplyDeleteI highly doubt it, I'm pretty sure that you have a fair number of readers at the very least.
Aw, that's OK, we'll find constructive ways to keep ourselves busy as we wait.
I read this somewhere and thought you might like it " Dear Math...Please grow up and solve your own problems. I don't have time for yours and mine..."
:-D
Love the Math quote!!!
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you start writing, and I will read ;-)
It would not hurt to try my hand at it.
ReplyDeleteI'd most likely write about stuff like MDGs and about my views on society. Not sure how it would turn out, but I guess there's only one way to find out.
I await with bated breath ;-)
ReplyDeleteOK.
ReplyDeleteLet me get started....I know I put that feather and bottle of ink somewhere here. Eraser? No erasers :-(
OK, sorry, couldn't help it...Thanks for the encouraging nudge. Tis greatly appreciated. Have a good day.
Share the link when done ;-)
ReplyDeleteHey, finally wrote something :-), then I submitted it at for something else:-°..... :-(
ReplyDeleteIf you're still up to it I could send it to you. Don't have q blog yet, but will do another article soon.
Hey! I didn't understand where you submitted it?
ReplyDeleteDo send it over. Yey!
Coooooool! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI've sent it to your FB account, I hope that's OK.
